Hippotherapy (equestrian-assisted therapy)
For more than 30 years, we have been offering hippotherapy as a part of our holistic rehabilitation programme.
Its application follows the example of Hippotherapy K’s founder, Ursula Känzle. Hippotherapy K is defined as a form of physiotherapy using the transfer of motion from horse to human. The resulting movement of the pelvis relieves tension in the muscles and promotes mobility in the hips and lower back region. It also provokes balancing reactions which are similar to walking.
The ensuing bond between human and animal and the opportunity to move about in natural surroundings supports the holistic approach to rehabilitation to a large extent.
