Science and research
Clinically relevant research projects are conducted in our scientific department. These make important contributions to the continuous development of modern, multimodal rehabilitation therapy.
They include
- Research into the application of neurofeedback in people with brain injuries
- Evaluation of the usefulness of animal-assisted therapy (AAT) in neurorehabilitation
Further research activities concern the care
- Patients in a persistent vegetative state
- People with neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
- Children or adults with cerebral palsy
Practical projects for the following
- Identifying dysphagia in speech therapy
- Applying modern methods to physiotherapy
- Measuring arm and hand function in tetraplegics through occupational therapy (REACT study)
In paraplegiology, we participate in the multicentre SwiSCI study, the first long-term study throughout Switzerland that surveys the specific needs of those with spinal injuries, including their needs after initial inpatient rehabilitation.
